And...

I apologize for the awkwardness tonight, folks.  It looks like I'll be stuck in the bowels of the Capitol until after midnight.

Sorry I could not engage with you more intensely tonight.

Let's call it quits.  I'll ask you all to read the responses of all your classmates before you shut-r-down.

I'll send your assignments for next week tomorrow.

Prompt #11: Problem-Based Learning


Review the slides prepared on Problem-Based Learning (Mendez).  Tell us about some problem-based learning (PBL) experience you had either through your formal education or in a life-lesson.  What are some of the elements of that PBL experience that you can specifically point to as Marzano 9 strategies?

Review the slides prepared on Concept-Based Curriculum (Franklin).  Tell us how you might take one topic in your chosen content area and build a concept-based lesson (or project) for that topic.

Review the slides prepared on Gifted/Talented Curriculum (Parker).  Now that you know a little about G/T curriculum, describe for us how you think serving the needs of G/T students will be different than serving the needs of the other students who will be in your class(es).

Review the slides prepared on Core Curriculum (Worley).  What do you see as the fundamental differences between the TEKS and the Core Curriculum?

Review the slides prepared on Character Education (Meza).  Tell us at least one way you might blend the elements of Character Education with the content (subject) you plan to teach when you get that teaching certificate.
